ONLY 50% DOES IT

TITLE:It seems that everyone is doing it, but only 50% percent of high school teens are having sex.

SUMMARY:It seems that everyone in high school has actually done it when in reality 50% of high school teens havent done it. Growing up isn't easy as it seems because as one gets older more & more tough decisions we teens have to make.Making your own decision of having sex or not doesn't mean going up to friends and asking them what they think about it, its actually what your actually going to face.
REFLECTION: This caught me off guard because their is many teens that lie that they have had sex. & I think that many reasons teens say that is because they're scared that their going to be out of style or something. I personally think that its very serious & it doesn't matter what people say its just being yourself.
EVIDENCE:" definitely not everyone is doing it, and sometimes people exaggerate or even lie about their actions. "
QUESTION: Why do high school teens lie about themselves having sex, whats wrong not doing it?

WOMENS HEALTH

TITLE: Teen pregnancy rates in the United States

SUMMARY: Teen pregnancy is one of the most import issue here in the United States.Their is serious health risk involved. Mothers who become pregnant at their teen years had suffer from emotional problems, health problems & or social problems.
Many teenage mothers well depended on Welfare. Many teen mothers had dropped out of school to have a job & 1 out of 3 teen mothers still obtained their occupation as a high school student to earn their high school diploma.

REFLECTION:Theirs no a lot of teen mothers who still go to school after having a baby. It is important for teens to continue their high school because that's the only way they can earn a good job for their future even though its no so easy. I agree that many teens had gotten involved in emotional problems & health problems such as social problems because many teens start to have a not so good future which adds to suicide.

EVIDENCE:

  • Teenage births are associated with lower annual income for the mother. Eighty percent of teen mothers must rely on welfare at some point.
  • Teenage mothers are more likely to drop out of school. Only about one-third of teen mothers obtain a high school diploma.
QUESTION: How can teens still go to high school after they need money for their own kid?

WHY IS IT SO SIROUS?

TITLE:Teen Pregnancy is a Serious Problem

SUMMARY: One of many teen-mothers consequences is that their all due to many negative disadvantages. Either because they need to drop school for in look for a job or having to be a single mom. However many consequences are not just for teenage moms but for their baby too knowing that a teenage body is still growing and can also affect the baby in someway.

REFLECTION: I think its true that many teen mothers get many disadvantages because once the baby is born the mom has to be in look for a job because it all depends on her future. Either with the baby's father of with out him. It all dues to family support which helps a lot when it comes to a pregnant teen. Knowing she didn't do the right thing
EVIDENCE: "However, most of the negative consequences for teen mothers-some say all-are due to the disadvantaged situations in which many of these girls already live."

QUESTION: What would it be like if a teen was expecting a baby knowing that she didn't have her family's support?

THE #1 COUNTRY WITH HIGHEST RATE

TITLE:Teen Pregnancy Articles,Debate,Research & Viewpoints

SUMMARY: Over 1 million adolescents become pregnant. More than 75% of teen mothers are left single.75% of teen pregnancy are unintended which teens get in mind of having abortions. 30% result to be abortions. According to the statistics more than 900,000 teenage pregnancies occur each year in the United States. The United States has the highest rate out of many other Nations.

REACTIONS: I will have to agree with the fact that many teenage girls become single after letting the father of the baby know they've become a father. Later on mother-teens don't have the option of going to school or finding a job. Having a baby and taking care of he/she is a lot of responsibility & can be very expensive.
EVIDENCE: About 1 million American teens become pregnant each year. More than three-quarters of these pregnancies are unintended. About 30 percent of adolescent pregnancies result in abortion, 14 percent end in miscarriage, and the remaining 56 percent result in live births. The birthrate among teenagers is about 49 births for every 1,000 teenage girls. Over 75 percent of adolescent mothers are unmarried.
The staggering rate of teenage pregnancy in the United States is a serious matter of concern. According to recent statistics, more than 900,000 teenage pregnancies occur each year;
QUESTION: What is the reason for teens getting pregnant, while knowing that their still too young?

CAUSE & EFFECT

TITLE:Causes & Effect of Teen Pregnancy

SUMMARY: They're is many ways teens can get pregnant. Many girls get pregnant because they had a long-termed relationship. Some when they just hooked up. But the worst situation there is, is having to get raped. Therefore, the only way that girls become pregnant is because there was a sexual activity involved either involuntary or voluntary. Effects can be that when a teen already carries a baby in her stomach she has to be really careful because teen body are still growing.

REFLECTION: Theres many teens who get pregnant not-desired & because of that theres many suicides, abortion & not being careful of what you do. However, using a condom correctly can also fail & next thing you know your pregnant without desired & knowing that you cant be responsible. Teens these days need to be careful when it comes to having sex because birth control doesnt always help like it needs to help. Parents need to have support thier teens even though their not going to be happy there kid is going to have a baby. It is not always easy to handle a baby mostly when he/she has been raped.

EVIDENCE:
-Facing an unplanned teen pregnancy can be hard.
-Each of these birth control methods can fail even when used correctly. However, studies show that teens are more likely to use birth control methods improperly, leading to a higher likelihood that they may fail and cause a teen pregnancy to occur.

IS AGE REALLY THE PROBLEM?

TITLE: Teen Pregnancy & Parenting

SUMMARY; Teens don't consider having a kid at a young age is a bad decision until they become pregnant. Parents dont consider theyre child to become pregnant but once it comes to that situation teen-mothers do not have so much support from theyre family knowing is what they need the most. Age is not the problem, the problem is having the money & the time to take care of your child. How can teens succeed without school if thats what they need in life to get a job. Family members dont like the idea of their kids having a child because theyres " no more space" , "its too much money".

REFLECTION: Teens should worry about school & having to succeed in life so late in life they have the money to actually take care of a baby with time & money & love that the babies need.

QUESTION: How well do teens take care of themselves & theyre baby with no parent of family support? (Think about it would you actually support her or let her on her own?]

RISE IN TEENAGE PREGNANCY

TITLE: Rise In Teenage Pregnancy Rate Spurs New Debate On Arresting It

SUMMARY; Pregnancy rates for adolescents between the ages of 15-19 lately increased 3% in the United States during 2005 & 2006. Teen abortion had gone higher for at least 1%. One of many reasons why teen pregnancy has increased is of several debates. They blame sex-education. However, those who support sex-education say that sex-education helps them prevent aids & other sexual diseases. Teen Pregnancy lately had become one of many social issues.

REFLECTION: Not only teen should be learning about sex but having them to put themselves in a position where they know what can happen if they do it. Having teens learn this is a good way to prevent them from sexual diseases. Though , not every teen cant take it seriously, thats why more teens increase the level of teen pregnancy.

EVIDENCE;"Supporters of abstinence programs, however, said the findings provided powerful evidence of the need to continue to encourage delayed sexual activity, not only to avoid pregnancy but also to reduce the risk for AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases."

Question: Do you believe that teenager should have the right to have sex- education? Why?

TITLE; Teen Pregnancy Rate Up After 10- Year Decline

SUMMARY; The United States has more rates of teen pregnancy & abortions than the Western Countries. During the year of 2006 ,7% of teen girls had gotten pregnant. In the United States 1,000 teens from the age 15-19 gotten pregnant which is a really high population that tells often what can happen if the years keep passing by.

REFLECTION; What struck me most while reading this article was that each and each day teenage girls get involved into situations where they get pregnant knowing that they're not ready to have a kid. ( This is why many girls get abortions)

QUESTION: What possibilities are their for teenage girls in this year to increase the rate of pregnancy?

TEENAGERS & PREGNANCY

TITLE: Teenagers & Pregnancy

SUMMARY;
When reading this article the most interesting information was that Between the years of 1991 & 2003 the population of teen pregnancy had increased. I believe thats true because the more the years pass the different the centuries change.

REFLECTION; Parents should care about this because it shows that teens are not ready to have a baby because their still growing. Teens should too by the way that they're not old enough to be able to take care of a child because of school & education.

-"Because the body of a teen is still growing she will need more nutritional support to meet both her needs and that of her baby. "
